3. Remove the memory modules from the memory riser:
a) Record the location of the memory module that you want to remove.
b) To unlock the memory module from its connector, simultaneously push both of the locking tabs
away from the module.
The lever action of the tabs pushes the memory module out of the connector. If you find it hard to
open the tabs with your fingers, you may use the tips of ball point pens, or the eraser ends of
pencils. The levers must be opened simultaneously, so that the memory module lifts straight up.
c) Hold the memory module by the edges and pull it out of the system.
d) Place the memory module on an ESD mat.
e) Repeat steps “3.a” on page 63 through “3.d” on page 63 for all of the memory modules that reside
on the memory riser you're replacing.
