Software & Firmware Updates
Prior to updating any software and/or firmware on the Chrome unit, verify if it is required;
Go to the menu “Options” and verify if the currently installed version is older than the latest version available
on the I2M website (

);

If an update is necessary, please proceed as follow;
•
Connect a USB flash drive to a personal computer (FAT32/exFAT formatting with 1x partition
only)
•
Download the required firmware and/or software version from the I2M download portal
•
Extract the ZIP files to the USB flash drive (do not extract both the firmware and software files at
the same time to the USB flash drive, this will need to be done individually i.e. first copy the
firmware file [*.hex], then delete this file from the USB flash drive and copy the extracted software
files to the USB flash drive)
•
Connect the USB flash drive to the Chrome unit
•
Proceed to the “Options” menu and select “Update Software/Firmware from USB”
•
Once selected the update will commence (Firmware updates take 3-5min to complete where
software updates are instant)
CAUTION:
Do not turn off the motorcycle’s ignition (remove power from the unit) at any point in time whilst the
update is in progress, this could cause the unit to malfunction.
•
Set the “Standby Time After Shut Down” to 0 hours (if otherwise set) in the “Options” menu
•
Shut down the Chrome unit completely
•
Restart the unit, then navigate to the “Options” menu to verify if the update was successful (the
firmware and software versions should reflect the update versions)
