NOTE
The spark plug must be tightened with a torque of 12-15Nm otherwise the engine may
overheat causing damage.
Only remove the spark plug after the engine has been turned off and allowed to cool.

Remove the spark plug HT lead cap.

Using the plug spanner provided, undo the spark plug and remove.

Ensure no dirt or debris is allowed to fall into the cylinder bore.

Inspect the spark plug and spark plug washer for any damage and replace immediately
if required.

Remove carbon deposits from the spark plug electrode by gently brushing with a
soft wire brush.

The spark plug gap should be 0.6
– 0.7mm
Check the plug gap using a feeler gauge and adjust as necessary by carefully bending
the side electrode to achieve the correct gap.
7.13
Refit the spark plug by hand to avoid cross threading.
Once the spark plug has seated correctly, torque it to a setting of 12
– 15Nm.

Reattach the spark plug HT lead cap.
