Battery maintenance.

7.41 

The battery is maintenance free and as such requires no special treatment other than 
keeping it clean. If the machine has not been used for a while it may run need
discharging

7.42 

The battery can be charged by starting the machine manually. Once running the
battery will charge.

7.43 

You can also remove the battery and charge it away from the machine, with a mains 
battery 

charger.

7.44 

When disconnecting the battery you MUST make sure that the battery leads DO NOT 
touch each other or the positive terminal does not touch the machine chassis.

7.45 

When reconnecting the battery you MUST observe the correct polarity – RED wire
to the positive (+) terminal and the BLACK wire to the (-) terminal. You should NOT 
start the machine when the battery is not fitted.

7.46 

To access the battery for removal undo the battery cover retaining bolt and keep in a 
safe place. Remove cover and lift the battery out and place it on the floor.

7.47 

Undo the BLACK wire to the (-) terminal first. Then undo the RED wire to the positive 
(+) terminal and cover it with insulating tape. Put the battery on charge. Once the   
battery is fully charged connect the battery as follows connect the RED wire to the  
positive (+) terminal, then connect the BLACK wire to the (-) terminal.
