Dismantling
Removing the throttle components must be made to
change the throttle wire, for example.
Remove the three shafts with a pin punch, diameter
2 mm. Note that the shafts are driven out towards the right
side and are also fitted from this side as the shafts are press
fitted to the left-hand half.
Components
The two adjacent pictures show the rear handle components
in a divided handle, from the right and left handle halves.
In practice, the components cannot be viewed in this way.
The purpose is to facilitate service work by understanding
the function and how the components are installed and
work together.
Working methodically
Dismantling and assembly must be done in a very specific
order to avoid any problems. Follow these instructions to
the letter!
Rear handle - control
The handle unit is permanently attached to the fuel tank.
This chapter deals with maintenance work on the rear handle control.
Maintenance work related to the fuel tank is described in the “Fuel system”
chapter. Work on the anti-vibration elements is described on Page 9.
In some of the pictures in this section, the rear handle has been divided to
show the assembly of the components. In practice, the components cannot be
viewed in this way.
The rear handle contains the throttle and lock against unintentional
acceleration and starter throttle lock. The throttle is connected by wire to the
carburettor.
The throttle must be locked in idle position. Only when the lock on the
handle top is pressed can the throttle be released. Any malfunctioning must
be addressed.
Note that work on the rear handle control is not possible without dividing
the handle unit from the engine unit. Page 9 describes the division.
