Manual CST tests
WARNING!
During manual trouble shooting
the batteries must be connected
and the machine powered.
Take extra care when working
on the machine.

The machine's driving wheels
must be free from the ground
(as there is a risk of involuntary
drive).
13.1 Manual CST Tests
Under the menu for manual tests are two
selections, test without operating the machine and
test while operating the machine. With these two
manual tests, troubleshooting can be carried out
on the machine while being able to see what is
happening in CST.
If there is bad contact, touch the cables, switches
and contacts while looking at CST to see if a
signal is obtained. The signal can be seen while
operating the machine.
13.2 Lift Switch
This shows the state of the microswitch that sends
a signal to CCU when the cutting deck is lowered.
With the cutting deck raised, the Lift Switch row
will say Up and with the cutting deck lowered, it
says Down. This means CCU detects an incoming
input signal on +5 V when the cutting deck lowered
(Down = +5 V to CCU). With the cutting deck
raised, it should say Up in the Lift Switch row if
in working order. If there is a fault, the cables
can be jiggled. Try loosening the cables from
the microswitch and reconnect them manually
to see if a signal to CCU is received, if working
order is restored after coupling but not when the
cables are connected to the microswitch, the
fault will be in the microswitch. The microswitch
that is tested here is the one that detects that the
cutting deck lifting lever has been raised and it
is the microswitch coupled with a gray lead and
two orange leads. The signal goes to the CCU
connector.
