SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

•   Wear suitable protective clothing for your own safety. Wear personal protective equipment. This

includes at least: hand/wrist guards, knee pads, head protection and elbow pads. Never use the

scooter without shoes!

•   The scooter is only intended for use by one person.

•    Only use the scooter on surfaces that are suitable for it, i.e. those which are flat, clean, dry, and

use the scooter where possible away from other road users. Avoid sloping ground. The brakes

may become hot if the scooter has been used for a while! Your footwear could be damaged! The

brakes shouldn’t be touched until they have cooled down.

•   Always be considerate of others.

•    Before you begin – Ensure that all fasteners and locking parts are intact and tight, e.g. the folding

mechanism and the height setting of the handlebar. The functions of self-securing screw threads

can be impaired after repeated loosening and tightening of the connecting elements. Check es-

pecially for the correct alignment and fastening of the steering set-up.

•    Do not use the scooter at twilight, at night or in poor visibility. Do not use it on roads or thorough-

fares or on slopes or hills. Avoid being in the proximity of stairs and open water.

•   The scooter is not suitable for jumps.

•    Prior to using the scooter, please inform yourself about restricting applicable traffic regulations

for the intended area of application. It is intended for use on footpaths.

•   The use of the product requires specific skills and knowledge to be able to avoid injuries due to

crashes and collisions.

•  Children should only use the product when they are under adult supervision.

INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSEMBLY

No tools are needed for assembly. The scooter will be delivered in transport condition (folded)!

(Picture 1)

IN ORDER TO MAKE THE SCOOTER READY FOR USE, PLEASE PROCEED AS FOLLOWS

•   Open the quick-release lock at the front end of the running board by turning the grey lever down-

wards to release the transport lock (Picture 2)

•   Press the steering column forwards until you hear it lock in at an angle of approx. 90° (Picture 3).

•   Guide the handlebar grips onto the T piece of the steering column. Press both locking buttons

with your thumb until the handlebar grips can be pushed onto the T piece without difficulty. Turn

the handlebar grips until the locking buttons appear in their locking holes and you hear them snap

in. Check that both handlebar grips are positioned correctly by pulling them both out. They are

correctly installed once they can no longer be moved (Picture 4),

•    The steering column can be locked at 2 heights. To adjust the height of the handlebars, release

the quick release fastener on the handlebars by pushing the lever of the quick release fastener

away from the handle bars until the lever is parallel to the handlebar grip. Pull the steering co-

lumn out of the steering shaft until the steering column has reached the height required and the

appropriate push button is locked in (Picture 7).

•   The built-in security device prevents the steering column being pulled out beyond the maximum

height. Should the steering column not be fixed firmly enough at the required height, open the

quick-release fastener again and tighten the screw on the other side so that the clamp sits more

firmly against the steering column. (Picture 5)  Repeat this process until the steering column can

be adjusted safely (Picture 6).

•  Now close the quick-release fastener by pushing the lever down against the steering shaft.

•   Always check that all parts are firmly fixed before use, especially the folding mechanism, the

steering lock mechanism and the wheels.

•   The play in the components can increase after some time. If required, re-tighten the screw in

Picture 8.

PLEASE PROCEED AS FOLLOWS TO RETURN THE SCOOTER TOTRANSPORT CONDITION

•  Open the quick-release fastener by pushing the lever away from the steering shaft.

•  Press the locking button so that the steering column can be moved (Picture 7).

•  Push the steering column into the steering shaft as far as it will go.

•  Close the quick-release fastener by pushing the lever down against the steering shaft.

•   Press the locking buttons in the handlebar grips with your thumbs and pull the handlebar grips

outwards until they are completely released from the T piece (Picture 4).

•   Push the handlebar grips down until they are parallel to the steering column and lock into the

handlebar mount.

•  Pull up the lever to release the transport lock. (Picture 9)

•   Fold the scooter by turning the steering column towards the rear wheel until you hear the trans-

port lock snap in. Ensure that the transport lock is latched before you transport the scooter.

INSERT AND CHANGING THE BATTERIES

•   4x AA batteries are needed for the illumination to work. The batteries are not included. These

batteries are widely available in retail outlets.

•   To insert the batteries, turn the scooter until you have good access to the battery panel beneath

the base plate. (fig. A)

•   Loosen the screw of the battery cover and take it out. You will need a Phillips screwdriver (not

included) to remove the screw. (fig. B)

•  Insert the batteries respectively change them, making sure that the polarity is correct (fig. C).

•  Screw the battery cover firmly closed.

•   Press the button once to switch on the scooter light. Press it a second time to switch the light off

(fig. A).

SWITCHING ON THE LIGHT

•  Turn the scooter so that you can easily reach the red on/off button under the footplate (fig. A)

•   Press the button once to switch on the scooter light. Press it a second time to switch the light off

(fig. A).

•   The scooter light will also switch on when you activate the foot brake. Please note that this will also

happen when the light is switched off.

BATTERIES REQUIRED

Never try to charge non-rechargeable batteries. If attempts are made to charge this type of battery,

they may not only run out but also explode, which may lead to destruction, the risk of fire and not least

to injuries. Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the scooter before charging. Make sure

that rechargeable batteries are only charged under adult supervision. Use only the batteries specified

in the scooter. Please remove empty batteries from the scooter and dispose of them in an environ-

mentally appropriate manner. Do not combine used and unused batteries in the scooter. Remove the

batteries when the scooter is not in use.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

NOTHING’S EASY AT FIRST …

... most accidents happen to “beginners” within the first ten minutes. Particular care should be taken

during this stage.

DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS

The scooter moves when a foot is used to regularly push off, just as with well-known children’s scoo-

ters. Braking is no problem either - simply step on the friction brake over the back wheel (mudguard).

We recommend folding the scooter by hand after each use.

Aluminium is a good and light material but should also be handled carefully as it is not as hard as

steel, for example.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Use a dry or damp cloth only to clean the product; do not use special cleaning agents! Check the

product for damage or traces of wear and tear before and after each use. Do not make any structu-

ral changes. For your own safety, please use original spare parts only. These can be sourced from

HUDORA. If parts become damaged or if sharp edges or corners should develop, the product may not

be used any more. If in any doubt, please contact our service team (http://www.hudora.de/). Store

the product in a safe place where it is protected from the elements, cannot be damaged, and cannot

injure anyone.

Replace damaged or worn assembly parts in order to ensure the safety of your scooter.

CHANGING THE WHEELS

Replacement wheels are available as accessories from http://www.hudora.de/ and should be re-

placed when they get worn down. To change the wheels, loosen the axle screw using two Allen keys

and take the wheel off the axle. You can push the bearing out of the wheel using a screwdriver or Allen

key to continue using it in the new wheel. However, it is usually advisable to change the bearing at the

same time as the wheel. Reinsert the bearing with the spacer sleeve in the new wheel and mount on

the frame with the axle screws. Make sure that the axle is tightly screwed before you start off again!

BEARINGS

Your kick scooter is equipped with precision ball bearings, which were filled with grease under high

pressure, during manufacture. For this reason, the rollers of the kick scooter only run lightly and

swiftly, while under load. Bearings are maintenance-free, but they are wear parts. Caution! Worn

bearings make conspicuous audible noises and their function is constrained. In order to maintain op-

timal riding pleasure and to ensure lasting safety, you should replace bearings, as soon as they begin

to exhibit signs of being worn. In the case of full load and daily use we recommend the replacement

of the rollers and bearings twice a year. Bearings are available as accessories under http://www.

hudora.de/.

DISPOSAL INFORMATION

At the end of its useful life, please take the device to the available return and collection systems. The

disposal company will answer questions on site.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON DISPOSING OF BATTERIES AND ACCUMULATORS

Caution: Used batteries and switching units/electrical and electronic parts must not be

discarded in the house waste in order to protect the environment. By the means of an

environmentally friendly disposal, valuable raw materials can be recovered. Return of

old batteries is therefore mandatory by law. After use batteries can be disposed of free

of charge at any point of sale or existing collections centres. All switching units must be

removed from the product and must also be disposed of separately. The symbol with the crossed-out

bin indicates this.
