5.2.2 Dynamic IP Connection
Before you start, obtain a dynamic IP address from your ISP. With the dynamic IP address, you
can connect an IPC to the Internet through a modem or a router.
Connecting an IPC through a Router
Step 1
Connect the IPC to the router.
Step 2
In the camera, set the LAN IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.
Step 3
In the router, set the PPPoE user name and password.
Step 4
Set port mapping, such as 80, 8000, 8200, and 554 ports. Seek help from the router manufacturer
for port mapping.

Obtain a domain name from a domain name provider.
Step 6
Set DDNS parameters on the setting page of the router.
Step 7
Visit the camera with the obtained domain name.

Connecting an IPC through a Modem
Network camera supports PPPoE auto dial-up. An IPC automatically obtains a public IP address
by ADSL dial-up after connecting to a modem.
