a) Sm oke Liquid
•
Unplug t he device

Only use non-inflam m able water-based sm oke fluid wit hout oil or grease, such as
VDLSL1

1. Unplug t he device from the m ains

2. Unscrew the cap from t he t ank
[ 3 ]

3. Carefully pour sm oke liquid into the tank ( do not overfill it!!).
4. Close the screw cap firm ly.
5. Gently slide t he feeder t ube

Rem ark: Do not operat e t he device w hen t he t ank [ 3 ] is open.
b) Fuse
•
Only fit or replace a fuse when t he device is unplugged from the m ains.
•
Replace a blown fuse with a fuse of t he sam e t ype and rating ( see “

at the back with an appropriate screwdriver.
3. Rem ove t he old fuse and inst all a new one.
4. Replace the fuse holder

and fast en it with t he screwdriver.
c) Mount ing t he device

Have the device installed by a qualified person, respecting EN 60598- 2- 17 and all other applicable
norm s.
•
The const ruction t o which t he device is at t ached should be able t o support 10 tim es t he weight of
t he device for one hour wit hout deform ation.
•
The inst allation m ust always be secured with a secondary at t achm ent e.g. a safet y cable ( e.g.
VDLSC7
or
VDLSC8
) .
•
Never stand directly below the device when it is being m ounted, rem oved or serviced. Have a
qualified technician check t he device once a year and once before you bring it int o service.
•
I nst all t he device in a location with few passers- by t hat is inaccessible t o unauthorised persons.
•
Overhead m ounting requires extensive experience: calculating workload lim its, determ ining the
inst allation m aterial t o be used… Have t he m at erial and the device it self checked regularly. Do not
at t em pt to inst all t he device yourself if you lack t hese qualifications as im proper installation m ay
result in inj uries.
•
Make sure t here is no flam m able m at erial wit hin a 50cm radius of the device.
•
Have a qualified elect rician carry out t he electric connection.
•
Connect t he device t o t he m ains wit h t he power plug

. Don’t connect it to a dim m ing pack.
•
The inst allation has t o be approved by an expert before the device is taken into service.
