Stopping the engine, retracting the powerplant
1. Throttle lever
- 20% power for 1 minute (to allow
the engine cooling down)
2. Airspeed
- Reduce to 95 km/h, (51 KIAS,
59 mph)
3. Flaps
- “+2”
4. Ignition switch
- OFF
5. Airspeed
- Maintain, until propeller has
stopped
6. Prop Stop lever
- Full back
7. Airspeed
- Increase to 95 - 100 km/h, (51 - 54
KIAS, 59 - 62 mph)to rotate the
engine until propeller is vertical
14. Powerplant extend
- DOWN (green LED lights in the
switch
retracted position)
8. Engine Unit switch
- OFF
9. Engine Main Switch
- ON
10. Prop Stop lever
- Full forward
11. Wing tank valve
- OFF
CAUTION
Through the mirror observe the powerplant retracting to check
that the propeller remains vertical and does not rotate.
NOTE
The powerplant retracts within about 12 seconds, but the entire
process from stopping the engine to the moment the powerplant
has fully retracted takes about 90 seconds and consumes a
height of about 100 m (328 ft).
