4.5.3 Launch/engine starting, run up, taxying procedures

Extending the powerplant, engine starting

WARNING

Do not crank the hot engine by hand, the serious injury may
occur!

1. Wheel brake

- Apply

2. Fire valve

- OPEN

3. Engine Main Switch

- ON

4. Engine Unit switch

- ON (green LED lights in the

retracted position)

5. Powerplant extend

switch

- UP (green LED lights in the

extended position)

6. Prop Stop lever

- Full forward

7. Ignition switch

- ON

8. Throttle lever

- ¼ open

9. Primer

- Actuate 3 times (by squeezing

rubber bulb if engine is cold)

10. Space around propeller - Check free

11. Control stick

- Fully back(tail wheel down)

12. Starter button

- Depress until engine has definitely

fired

13. Engine parameters

- Check

NOTE

Release starter button as soon as engine has definitely fired and
adjust throttle such that engine runs smoothly.
Should engine die after first ignition – p

rime only once and leave

Throttle lever ¼ open.

Should – after repeated starting attempts –

the engine be flooded, open throttle fully and try again.
Should the engine fail to start, clean spark plugs.
