Simple Network Time Protocol
Simple Network Time Protocol
The HP PS1810 series switch software supports the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP). SNTP
ensures accurate network device clock time synchronization up to the millisecond. Time synchroniza-
tion is performed by a network SNTP server. The software operates only as an SNTP client and cannot
provide time services to other systems.
The SNTP server port of 123 is used by default. A log message is generated when the configured SNTP
server is unreachable.
N o t e
SNTP acquires the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) from an SNTP server. Configure the Time Zone
(see
page 3-6
) and Daylight Saving Time (see
page 3-7
) to configure the offsets for your local time zone.
To display the SNTP page, click
Network Setup > SNTP
in the navigation pane.
