System Setup and Configuration for Red Hat Linux 7.3 Professional
LifeKeeper Installation
Proceed with the LifeKeeper installation as instructed in the planning and installation
guide for the specific LifeKeeper Product being installed. Refer to the LifeKeeper for
Linux Release Notes for additional information.
IMPORTANT:
The steeleye-lkCCISS-
<LifeKeeper Version>
package is required for Linux
clustering. Be sure to select this option when selecting packages to install.
IMPORTANT:
If prompted to install the CCISS driver during the LifeKeeper for Linux
installation process, answer
no.
The CCISS driver from HP must be used. Do not confuse the
CCISS driver with the CCISS package that is installed during the LifeKeeper installation
process. The CCISS driver and package are both needed for LifeKeeper for Linux to work
properly.
Validating the LifeKeeper Cluster Configuration
After the systems are configured and the resource hierarchy tree is functional from
within LifeKeeper, system failover should be tested. To test failover:
1.
Run the LifeKeeper console GUI on server node B. The console screen shows
server node A as active and server node B in standby.
2.
Right-click
server
node B
and select
In Service.
A window displays as the
scripts are run to switch server node B into service as the active system.
