5 Troubleshooting Common Problems
Problems related to Web Browser
Incorrect Printing of HP ConfigTailor HTML pages.
If you are having problems printing the ConfigTailor HTML pages
correctly, it is likely due to the web browser you are using. Some web
browsers do not support the Java Applets contained in ConfigTailor’s
HTML pages. We recommend that you use either Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.0x, or Netscape Communicator 4.x to avoid these types of
problems.
Mouse problems when using Netscape Communicator 4.0x to
browse HP ConfigTailor.
The most frequent mouse problem encountered is that the mouse
cursor appears as a vertical arrow instead of a hand when placed over a
link in the HP ConfigTailor HTML screens (such as the Welcome screen
shown on page 12).
This is a Java Virtual Machine related bug which is documented in the
Microsoft Knowledge base (http://support.microsoft.com/).
Possible solutions are to use another web browser (such as Microsoft
IE 4.0x or Netscape Communicator 4.x) or to upgrade the Java Virtual
Machine by installing the latest version of Microsoft SDK for Java from
http://www.microsoft.com/java
.
Note that you must remain connected to the internet when installing.
Netscape Communicator 4.0x may be unable to launch the
.EXE
file.
The problem occurs when running the HP ConfigTailor 1.0 “Create a
Deployment Database” HTML screen, you choose “click here” to run
the Database Creation Utility Setup and Netscape Communicator only
allows you to save the
setup.exe
file to your hard disk.
