5 Troubleshooting Common Problems
Problems Related to the Creation of, or Installation from, a Deployment Database

Microsoft IE 3.02 also contains Java Virtual Machine related bugs,
which are documented in the Microsoft Knowledge base
(http://support.microsoft.com/). The following problems may occur:
•
IE 3.02 loops forever after clicking on an HTML hyperlink in
one of the HP ConfigTailor HTML pages.
•
IE 3.02 crashes after pressing continuously on the “Refresh”
button.
•
The mouse cursor is a vertical arrow instead of a hand.
Possible solutions are:
•
Use another browser, such as Microsoft IE 4.0x or Netscape
Communicator 4.x, or,
•
Upgrade Java Virtual Machine by installing the latest version
of Microsoft SDK for Java from
http://www.microsoft.com/java
.

Note you must remain connected when installing.
Problems Related to the Creation of, or Installation
from, a Deployment Database
Error in opening an .INI file in path \\...\HPSERVER\... or
\\...\OSSERVER\...
During system administrator tasks (such as when using the
Add/Remove Packages, Configuration Wizard or Add/Remove
Operating Systems Versions utilities), you may encounter missing file
errors.
This is usually because, after the HP ConfigTailor Installation, you have
forgotten to change the following folder settings:
•
The folder location you chose for Software MUST be shared as
HPSERVER.
•
The folder location you chose for Operating Systems MUST be
shared as OSSERVER.
