To play music from iPod using the Dock:

Place iPod in the Dock.

Connect the speakers or stereo to the Dock Line Out port using an audio cable
with a 3.5 millimeter stereo miniplug.

Use the iPod controls to play a song.
When the Dock is connected to an external audio source, use the volume controls
on the external source to change the volume.

About iTunes
iTunes is the software application you use to manage the music on your PC and
transfer music to iPod. When you connect iPod to your PC, iTunes opens
automatically.
Here are some of the things you can do with iTunes:
• Purchase and download songs and audiobooks from the iTunes Music Store
• Listen to CDs and digital music
