Replacement Procedures for Model 2200 Enclosure Elements
•
In dual-redundant controller configurations, shut down the “other controller”
first, then shut down “this controller” with the following commands:
SHUTDOWN OTHER_CONTROLLER
SHUTDOWN THIS_CONTROLLER
NOTE: After the controllers shut down, the reset buttons and the first three LEDs turn
O
N
(see Figure 4–1). This might take several minutes to happen, depending on the
amount of data that needs to be flushed from the cache modules.
Proceed only after the reset buttons stop F
LASHING
and remain O
N
.

5. Remove power to the subsystem.
CAUTION: When shutting down the controller for longer than one day, reseat each
ECB to stop the ECB fault LED from F
LASHING
and prevent the ECB battery from
discharging.
Restarting the Subsystem
Use the following steps to restart a Model 2200 subsystem.
1. Refer to enclosure documentation for specific procedures to follow for restarting
the subsystem.
NOTE: Applying power to the subsystem automatically starts the controllers and turns O
N
the ECBs. A controller restart can take as long as 60 seconds, indicated by the temporary
cycling of the port LEDs and a F
LASHING
reset button.
IMPORTANT: If a controller did not restart, use the following steps:
a.
Press and hold the controller reset button.
b.
Reseat the controller program card.
c.
Release the reset button.
