How do I register my iLO licenses?
1. Locate the Entitlement Order Number (EON) on your License Entitlement Certificate or Licensing Confirmation
Email.
2. Enter the EON in the HPE Licensing Portal.

You can sign up for a 60-day free trial iLO license to test drive our licensed features.
CAUTION: Installing the HPE iLO Advanced Premium Security Edition free evaluation license on a HPE Gen10
Server with an active iLO license (your purchased iLO License) will overwrite the existing iLO license. Be sure to
record your existing iLO license before applying the trial license.
Use one of the following methods to record and retrieve your existing license:
• Register your key at the Licensing Portal. Follow the instructions on your License Entitlement Certificate OR
your email if you purchased an electronic license.
• Use the Back Up and Restore feature prior to applying this trial license key.
NOTE: If you have already signed up and applied a trial license to your server, you cannot apply a trail license a second
time. The free trial license key can only be applied to your server once.

iLO driver support
iLO is an independent microprocessor running an embedded operating system. The architecture ensures that most iLO
functionality is available, regardless of the host operating system. The iLO drivers enable software such as HPONCFG and
the Agentless Management Service to communicate with iLO. The installed OS and system configuration determine the
installation requirements.
Linux
When you use Linux with iLO, the following driver is available:
hpilo
1.5.0 and later.
This driver manages agent and tool application access to iLO.
hpilo
is part of the Linux kernel for all the server operating systems supported by this version of the iLO firmware.
hpilo
is loaded automatically at startup.
