Ever-present
Since the partition is protected and cannot be deleted, you have an ever-present,
powerful hardware diagnostics utility at your fingertips. No need to locate a CD-ROM
or floppy disks, or search the Internet; it is all there, ready to use.

Easy to employ
Simply restart the computer and press
F8

F10
on Notebook PCs) until the Boot
menu appears. The Boot menu provides direct access to e-Diagtools.

Transparent
The HP Protected Partition is transparent to the user. Therefore this partition does
not hinder or confuse the user when they are carrying out their normal tasks on the
PC.

Unobtrusive
32 MB of disk space is used for the HP Protected Partition – this is a negligible amount
for the current generation of massive multi-gigabyte hard disks.

Easy to manage
System administrators can easily produce gold disks for HP-supplied hard disks that
safely include the HP Protected Partition, easily duplicating its benefits across the
numerous HP computers in the network.
