it
is

and
active.
If
the

is
not
active,
and

will
need
to
edit
the
dfile
to
activ
ate
it.
If
the
display
sho
ws
nothing,
then

ou
will
need
to
add
the
cdfs
line
to
the
dfile
b
y
t
yping
the
line
cdfs
at
the
end
of
the
le.
If
y
ou
are
running
a
clustered
system,
y
ou
will
also
need
to
do
the
same
pro cedure
to
the
k
ernel
of
eac
h
no de
to
make
sure
that
the
cdfs
is
installed,
b efore
y
ou
reb o ot.
Rebuilding
the
Kernel
If
y
ou
ha
v
e
c
hanged
the
conguration
of
the
k
ernel,
y
ou
m
ust
rebuild
it
in
order
to
cause
HP-UX
to
execute
the
new
conguration.
Caution
If
y
ou
are
in
a
clustered
en
vironmen
t,
do
these
tasks
in
\Single-User
State"
b
y
executing
shutdown
rst.
Exit
from
an
y
net
w
orked
connections.
If
y
ou
ha
v
e
added
the
cdfs
to
a
cluster
serv
er,
y
ou
m
ust
also
add
it
to
the
k
ernels
of
all
the
no des
b efore
y
ou
reb o ot.
In
the
case
of
a
mixed
cluster,
failing
to
do
so
can
cause
a
system
panic.
The
following
sequence
of
commands,
ending
with
reb o oting
y
our
system
(the
reboot
command),
will
accomplish
the
k
ernel
rebuild:
cd
/etc/conf
config
dfile
make
-f
config.mk
mv

/SYSBCKUP
