Introduction
HP provides a variety of software solutions to set up
or manage your HP JetDirect-connected print server(s).
The HP JetDirect CD-ROM, shipped with your print
server, provides the fastest and easiest way to install
your print server. For additional options, see the
appropriate sections in this chapter.
HP JetDirect CD-ROM
The HP JetDirect CD-ROM contains software,
documentation, registration, and licensing information
for your HP JetDirect print server.
Using this CD-ROM on Windows-based systems, you
can do the following:

Choose the Install Network Printer option for
quick setup
■
View documentation for your print server
■
Register your print server via the Internet
■
Install other HP software for network printer
installation and management
On the HP JetDirect CD-ROM, there may be software
that is not supported with the HP JetDirect 170X
OfficeConnect Print Server. Please see page 4 for
supported operating systems.
To Run the CD-ROM Installation Utility
On Windows 95, 98, 2000, and NT systems, insert
the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Wait for the
installation utility to automatically start, or run
SETUP.EXE from the root directory of the HP JetDirect
CD-ROM.
Select the option you desire and follow the
instructions on the screen.
