Stop brake

Activate the pedal to brake the wheel holder chuck
and make fi xing nut clamping or unclamping easier.
The wheel is also retained in the correct position to
allow for an easier weight application.
Warning
:
This stop brake is designed only to facilitate
orientation of the wheel and must not be used for
braking the chuck during operation.

On wheel balancers “p” equipped with the quick-
clamping
Power Clamp
device, the pedal also
controls the
Power Clamp
, for clamping the wheel
on the unit.
•
Lift the pedal so as to clamp or unclamp the wheel.
•
Press the pedal to engage the brake and stop the
chuck.

Ultrasonic detector
On the outer side of the machine there is an ultrasonic
detector for measuring the wheel width (Fig. 4-9).
The sonar has a tolerance of +/- 0.5’’.
Such tolerance does not jeopardise the accuracy of
the balancing procedure.
