9.1 Stationary Machine Operation – 45-degree miters with two keys per joint
Following the steps outlined above, the first keyway position is routed on all parts.
The center fence is then re-adjusted for the second keyway by loosening the thumb screw and moving the fence in or
out to the desired position.
The second keyway is then routed as outlined above.
If profiled moulding is used, it may be necessary to adjust the routing height to use longer or shorter Dovetail Keys in
the second keyway locations.
Always use the longest Dovetail Keys possible for best results, e.g. 5/8” Keys are the right choice for 3/4" thick stock.

10. Stationary Machine Operation – 45-degree miters with two keys per joint
Set-up with removable index pins instead of center fence
1. The machine is secured along the edge of a sturdy surface, e.g. workbench, etc. with two 8 x 3/4" pan head
screws.
2. The moulding is placed on the machine table, with the miter face tight against the machine fence.
3. The keyway location is set by placing a supplied steel index pin in the desired position in the machine fence.
4. The routing stroke (length of router carriage travel) is set with height adjustment collar.
5. The operator turns on the machine and holds the moulding tightly on the table and against the steel pin with
one hand. The motor is slowly and carefully pulled up with the other hand until the pre-set stop has been
reached, it is then lowered back down.
6. Never place your hand or fingers directly above the router bit – always assume that router bit could
cut all the way through material!
7. The motor is switched off and the moulding removed from the machine.
