REVERSE SEWING AND THREAD CUTTING
1. Reverse sewing is usually applied at the beginning and end of a seam. The
purpose is to lock the threads at both ends of the seam so that the seam
does not unraveI.
2. Set the machine for straight stitch sewing, depending on the fabric you are
sewing. Place the fabric under the presser foot, just a small section behind
the raw edge of the fabric. Lower the foot and sew approx. 3 stitches.
CAUTION!
The length of the stitch when sewing in reverse is pre-set,
regardless of the selected stitch.
3. Stop sewing, then press and hold the reverse lever (4). Hold it while you
sew 3 stitches in reverse.
4. Release the reverse lever (4) to sew forward again. When you reach the
fabric other end, press and hold the reverse lever(4) to sew 3 reverse
stitches again.
5. Release the reverse lever (4) to sew forward again, to the fabric edge.
Raise the presser foot lifter (28) and remove the work from the machine.
6. To cut off the thread tails, hold the fabric in your left hand. Pull it from
behind the machine, insert the thread tails into the thread cutter (3) on the
machine side. Pull down until the threads are cut.
