Open the packaging and carefully take the device out. Make sure the set is
complete and that its components are undamaged. Check that the plastic parts
and the power cord are not damaged. If any parts are missing or damaged,
contact the dealer and do not use the device. Keep the packaging or dispose
of it in accordance with local regulations.
The package should contain the following:
DEVICE PARTS AND THEIR FUNCTION
(1) Thread tension adjustment dial
- lets you select the right tension for
the stitch, thread and fabric. Tensioning discs inside the machine adjust
the tension of the upper thread. The thread tension dial is numbered from
1 through 9. The higher the number, the higher the tension of the upper
thread. The values of 3, 4 and 5 on the scale are marked with boxes, as
these are the most frequently used settings.
(2) Thread take-up lever
- controls the flow of the upper thread. The self-
threading eyelet simplifies the threading of the take-up lever.
(3) Thread cutter
- built in the side of the machine, enables quick and easy
trimming of thread tails after completing a seam.
(4) Reverse lever
- reverses the sewing direction. Simply press the lever all
the way down and hold in place. Release it to resume sewing forward.
