To configure exactly how these keyboard function keys respond, touch the corresponding but-
ton on the screen. You are then able to use your keyboard to modify the action of the function
key, within certain limits.
NOTE: You must have a PS2 compatible keyboard connected to the PS2 keyboard connector
on the right side panel.

In CW or PSK31 mode the string
functions as follows:

<Tx>
turns on the transmitter
•
CQ (seek you) is sent three
times
•
de (from) is sent
•
followed by
<MyCall>,
your Amateur Radio call sign, which will be described in the sec-
tion on
Tags
.
•
pse
– the abbreviation for “please” is transmitted
•
k
– the abbreviation for “OK” is also transmitted
•
<RX>
- returns the IQ32 to receive mode
Note: there is room for two lines of text/commands/tags on the screen. The cursor (the
^
char-
acter) is shown at the current end of the command string.
Once you have configured the operation of the
F1
function key as desired, tap the
Done
button
to return to the
H
OME
S
CREEN
. Using the
UP ARROW
(
)
and
DOWN ARROW
(
)
keys,
select the next button.
Note that you can also tap on the
Tags
button to switch to editing of the values of the internally
stored tags.
Tags
will be described later in this manual.
In a similar manner, you can fine-tune the actions performed by the
F2
through
F12
keyboard
function keys.
