Rohloff E-14
Shifting is done with the two buttons next to the
right handlebar grip. A single press shifts a gear.
A longer press shifts 3 gears at once. The Bosch
e-bike system recognises the shifting operation
and reduces the power assistance for a short
time, so that shifting under load or on the moun-
tain is possible.
If the pedelec is stopped from a speed of more than 10 km/h, the system can
automatically shift back to a set “start gear”. This can be set as follows:

Switch on the system
•
Press and hold the buttons “i” and “RESET” together
-> The ”Settings” menu opens
•
Change to “start gear” using “i”
•
Set the “start gear” using “+” or “-” on the remote
•
To save the “start gear”, press “RESET” for 3 seconds.
Due to the design of the Rohloff hub a freewheel sound can be heard in
certain gears. This sound is most clearly audible in gears 5, 6 and 7.
In case of strong pedaling power or high cadence a humming noise, which
is typical for straight-toothed precision gears, can be heard in gears 1 to 7
(becoming louder).
During the first 1,000 km the Rohloff hub will be run in and the noises dur-
ing riding will become quieter and the shifting operations softer.
4.3. Gates Carbon Drive system
When delivered, the belt is optimally tensioned and does not have to be re-tensioned
even after prolonged use of the drive. Correctly mounted, the belt is extremely
resilient in the pulling direction. The carbon fibres embedded in the belt are very
flexible but sensitive to the following issues:
