Some consideration should be given before installation begins. You need to determine if the two
furnaces are compatible. They should be similar in maximum static pressure operation and blower
CFM. They do not need to be exactly the same and the Hitzer furnace should generally be smaller
in BTU’s and blower CFM’s. This is because of the constant operation of a solid fuel furnace
compared to the start and stop operation of other furnaces. You should also add the CFM output
of each furnace. You can then get an idea if the ductwork is sized such that the operating static
pressure of the two combined will not go over the maximum for either if both operate at the same
time. You should make sure that is there is an air conditioning coil on your present furnace that
you can connect above it so as not to run the air from the Hitzer furnace through it.

UL Tested/Label:
Follow the information and clearance charts located on each Hitzer Stove
Model. These stoves have been tested to UL 391-2006, approved, and labeled on the rear of
each stove.
It is strongly recommended to have this Hitzer Furnace installed by an educated and certified
installation professional. Please refer to a NFI (National Fireplace Institute) Certified Installer for
your installation needs and questions. Locate an NFI professional at www.nficertified.org.
