7.6.3 Connecting the POWER
After removing the front door, remove the starter/con-
trol box cover and wire as shown in the figure. Supply
connect must not be obstructive to the disassembling
work of the enclosure. All wiring inside the compressor
is completed. (Refer to pages 40 through 41 for wiring
diagram.)

7.6.4 Connecting a ground cable
Use Ground Terminal which is on the lower left side of
the starter panel. Adopt Grounding Resistance accord-
ing to the following table.
Power Source Voltage
Grounding Resistance Value
400 V class
Less than 10
Ω
(Type C Grounding)
Use a ground cable of 22mm

or more. (55kW), 38mm

or
more. (75kW)
7.6.5 Other Operating Information and
Precautions
(1) Protect the DCBL controller and fan inverter cir-
cuits with a built-in electronic thermal breaker.
Detection of failure phasing is available only when
turn on.
(2)
If it occurs during operation, the inverter is over-
heated. If the phase-lacking connection occurs dur-
ing operation, the DCBL controller and fan inverter
are overheated. Therefore, tightly fasten the power
cord cores to prevent a phase-lacking connection
from happening.
(3) Do not install a power factor enhancing capacitor on
the motor side, the capacitors built into the DCBL
controller and fan inverter receive a large charging
current and, as a result, DCBL controller and fan
inverter fail.
(4) Install the Hitachi noise filters (as below) on the
power supply if there are radios, TV sets, or any
other electronics products around the
HISCREW.

Immediately after you disconnect the power,
the DCBL controller and fan inverter are still
charged. Before servicing the starter/control
box, therefore, make sure that charge lamps of
the DCBL controller and fan inverter are off or
wait for about 10 minutes after disconnecting
the power.
●
If the compressor is operated with the
power cable of phase R or S unconnected
(i.e., phase-lacking connection condition),
the machine repeats the operation between
instantaneous power interruption and
restart to fail the startup. Only when phase
T is under the phase-lacking connection
condition, the machine detects such the
condition at the power-on.
●
Use rubber bushes at the wiring holes to
protect cables at wiring work inside the
starter. If not protected, cables touch a steel
plate at the wiring cable hole in the starter
panel by a slight vibration during operation.
This may damage the cable cover during
long time use and result short circuit.
