Connecting the Computer Cables
Connecting Token Ring Cables
The optional Token Ring interface can be connected to the network using
one of two I/O connectors:

DB9 (STP) Shielded Twisted Pair
■
RJ45 (UTP) Unshielded Twisted Pair
The optional Token Ring interface has an RJ12 serial management port
connector that can be used to print or display status error messages. The
required cable is not included with the optional Token Ring kit. An RJ12
to serial cabling diagram is shown in your Print Server Module (PSM)
Virtual Printer Technology User’s Guide.
Attachment to the network requires the use of either STP or UTP. Once the
transceiver is in place, the network cable can be attached.
CAUTION
!
Do not use the DB9 (STP) and RJ45 (UTP) connectors at the
same time. This will cause damage to the Interface.
