Preventing ESD Damage
The hardware components are sensitive to electric damages. Static voltages can be
easily generated whenever you handle plastic or foam packing material or if you move
components across plastic or carpets. Some components can be impaired by static
voltages.
To minimize the potential of electrostatic discharges (ESD), follow the rules:

Always use ESD wrist strap which should be directly contact with your skin.
Caution: For safety, periodically check the resistance value of the ESD strap. The
measurement should be in the range of 1 to 10 Megaohms.

When you handle the chassis, make sure one end of your ESD strap is
connected to the ESD point on the chassis. There are two ESD points on the
chassis: one is on the front panel as shown in Figure 3-1, and the other is on
the back panel as shown in Figure 3-2.
