Preventive Maintenance Schedule and Checklist

Pass/Fail

Manual Hydraulic Function Test

Unplug the bed from its power source, and verify proper operation of the head 
functions.

Disinfect and Inspect The Power Cord

Inspect the length of the power cord for cuts and abrasions. Replace as needed.

Inspect the length of the pendant cord for cuts and abrasions. Replace as 
needed.

Wipe down the entire length of the pendant cord and power cord with a facility-
approved disinfectant.

Inspect all head end warning labels. Replace labels as needed.

Ground Resistance Check

Plug the bed into a properly calibrated safety analyzer, and attach the safety 
analyzer to the head end lift arm ground strap.

Check that electrical ground resistance readings do not exceed the maximum 
specification of 200 milliohms.

Leakage Current Check

Using a calibrated safety analyzer, verify that the bed’s electrical leakage read-
ings meet the specification of 200 microamps.

Unplug the bed from the analyzer.

Disinfect and Inspect the Bed’s Head End

Plug the bed into an appropriate power source.

Raise the bed to its highest position. 

Raise the head section 10°, place an angle locator on the head and confirm that 
no greater than 3° from left to right exists.

Inspect for physical damage and missing parts, including the winch tab. Repair 
or replace as necessary.

Inspect the IntelliDrive® Transport System handles for physical damage. 
Repair or replace as necessary.

Verify the head end casters rotate 360° without touching the base frame.
