Disinfect and Inspect the Bed’s Right Side

•
Zip the mattress ticking back to the head end.
•
Raise the right-hand siderails, and verify proper operation of the siderail lock-
ing function.
•
Inspect the siderails to ensure they are not bowed in or out.
•
Using the caregiver siderail controls, lower and raise the bed. Fully articulate
the bed to test the position sensors.
•
Raise the bed, and level the surface.
•
Using an angle indicator on the weigh frame, verify the angle between the head
end and foot end is less than 3°.
•
Using the caregiver siderail controls first and then the pendant, verify proper
operation of the electric head and knee functions. Fully articulate the head and
knee sections to test the limit switches. Inspect the Line-of-Site® Angle Indica-
tors for physical damage, and verify that their ball bearings are free moving.
•
Using the caregiver siderail controls, verify proper operation of the electric foot
up and down functions. Fully articulate the foot section to test the limit
switches.
•
Verify proper operation of the FlexAFoot™ Retractable Foot Mechanism.
•
Verify proper operation of the Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg elec-
tric mechanisms. Fully articulate the Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelen-
burg electric functions to test the limit switches.
•
Verify proper operation of the FullChair® Patient Position Mechanism.
•
Using the patient siderail controls, verify proper operation of the electric head
and knee functions.
•
Press the Bed Flat control, and level the bed.
•
Press and hold the Enable control while pressing the lockout controls. Verify
that the lockout lights illuminate.
•
Deactivate the lockouts.
•
Inspect the siderail extender for damage. Replace if necessary.
•
Wipe down the bottom of the sleep surface with a facility-approved disinfec-
tant.
WARNING:
Do not spray cleansers/disinfectants directly onto the
bed control switches, which are located on both sides of
the siderails. Personal injury or equipment damage
could occur.
•
Wipe down the right-hand siderails and extender with a facility-approved disin-
fectant. Inspect for physical damage.
•
Wipe down all exposed surfaces with a facility-approved disinfectant. Inspect
for physical damage and missing parts.
•
Wipe down the lower frame with a facility-approved disinfectant. Inspect for
physical damage and missing parts.
