Manage your RAID array
The following features allow you to monitor and maintain your arrays to prevent any
critical failures from occurring:
Spare Pool (pg. 29)
Email Notifications (pg. 29)
SMART Monitoring (pg. 29)
Health Inspector Scheduling (pg. 29)
RAID Spare Pool
Physical drives marked as a spare will automatically be added to a redundant RAID
array (RAID levels 1, 10, 5, and 6) whenever there is a disk failure. Enabling this feature
minimizes the chances of data loss since it reduces the time an array is in critical
status.
Add/Remove Spare
Using WebGUI:

Log in WebGUI

Click

Spare
Pool
4.
Check the box for the disk you want as a spare from
Available
Disks
5.
Click
Add
Spare
Disks added to the spare pool will show under
Spare
Pool
and can be removed by
checking the disk checkbox from
Spare
Pool
> Click
Remove
Spare.
Email Notifications
When enabled, all added recipients will receive an email notification for any event log
entries. (More information about events refer to pg. 61)
To set up email alerts:

Check the Enable Event Notification box.
