5 Start up
Before you start dispensing, you have to prime the system with product. Follow these
instructions step by step to avoid troubles, e.g. bubbles in the product at the feedline
and dispensing valve.
5.1 Basic Conditions
The dispensing system is not filled with Loctite product:
– No cartridge is inserted.
– The product feedline, the eccentric rotor pump and/or the dispensing valve are not
filled with product.
5.2 Priming the System
Gel CA Adapter Ring
•
Insert the preassembled
cartridge/adapter ring into the shell.
•
Close shell.
•
Close both tension jacks.
Cartridge Adapter
•
Insert the preassembled
cartridge/adapter into the shell.
•
Close shell.
•
Close both tension jacks.
•
Set the controller 971523 to manual operation.
See operating manual 97152 section 5.5.
When using additionally an eccentric rotor pump:
•
Connect the necessary cords and feedlines according to the graphic at section 4.5 and
4.6.
•
Remove the vent screw of the eccentric rotor pump; see operating manual of the rotor
pump, section 5.2.
•
Pressurize pneumatic cylinder till product comes out of the vent bore of the eccentric
rotor pump.
•
Close the vent bore with the screw.

Notice! For Bauer drive:
Potentiometer position at the drive control box: 10.
•
Start the eccentric rotor pump and the dispense valve till the product comes out
bubble-free of the dispensing nozzle.
The dispensing system is then primed correctly.
5.3 Operating Conditions
The dispensing system is primed with product and ready for the automatic operation.
•
For Bauer drive: Set potentiometer at the drive control box to position: 3-3.5.
•
Set control to automatic operation mode.
•
System runs in the automatic cycle.
