7.4. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
A number of essential safety precautions must be taken when transporting
the bed and its accessories to another location.
During transport, the bed must:
- Be in the "low" position
- Have all functions locked out
- Be covered, with all moving parts secured and maintained by straps
- Be damp-proofed
- Be kept at a temperature of between 0° and 40°C.
During storage the bed must:
- Be in the "low" position
- Have all functions locked out
- Be covered and all moving parts secured
- Be damp-proofed
- Be kept at a temperature of between 0° and 40°C.
Beds must never be transported or stored one on top of the other.
PLEASE NOTE: In transport or storage, batteries should be recharged
every 2 weeks when fitted.
7.5. DE-COMMISSIONING
The bed and its accessories should be cleaned and disinfected before de-
commissioning.
De-commissioned equipment materials (plastics, electrical components, etc.)
must be recycled in proper waste recycling units.
As regards the battery:

It must be returned to Hill-Rom
®
or the local distributor.
