10. Functions of the test button
By means of the test button, the respective functions of the smoke detector
are initiated or acknowledged.
By simply pressing the button you can
■
Start the function test in normal operation.
■
Acknowledge a failure.
■
Acknowledge/mute an alarm.
■
Delete the alarm memory.

11. Properties of the base
If the smoke detector is inserted into the base, it starts operation automati-
cally and carries out a self-test. If it is removed from the base, the smoke
detector turns off after 5 minutes. If the Genius Hx
®
is removed from the
base during an alarm, the alarm is muted ( see properties of the Genius Hx
®
- Mute function ).
