Non-combustible hearth exten-
sion may be required when appliance is installed on com-
bustible surface.
• Hearth extension must be non-combustible and
serves to protect combustible

oors in front of appli-
ance. See Figure 5.11.
• The base of the

replace may sit on a combustible sur-
face. See Figure 5.11. The area in front of the appli-
ance must be protected by a non-combustible hearth
extension, unless the appliance is raised a minimum
of three inches above the combustible
fl
oor or hearth.

one inch thick. Hearth will interfere with installation of
glass assembly. Total hearth height must not exceed one
inch from bottom of appliance when appliance is installed

If a hearth greater than one inch in thickness is desired,
the appliance must be raised by the equivalent height
to ensure that the hearth extension does not interfere
with the installation of the glass assembly required for

replace operation. See Figure 5.11.
