9 UNPACKAGING AND PREPARATION FOR
SETTING UP
Take the greatest care on unpacking the machine in order to avoid the
risk of danger to persons or things. The machine is packed in the box with
driving plough handles and cutting bar dismantled. Proceed as follows
for plough handle (fig. 9) assembly:

. remove the screws fixed on the plough handle attachment
2
. position the plough handles on their attachment
3
. insert the screws and verify the correct position of the plough handles
4
. firmly tighten the nuts using the spanners provided
Bar assembly
(fig. 10):
1
. pull the disengagement bar to the disconnected position
2
. insert the cutter bar attachment into the machine PTO
3
. position the bar disengagement lever to engaged position
4
. slightly shake the bar and ensure that the locking pin is inserted
10 CHECKS BEFORE STARTING UP
Before starting up check:
l
the oil level in the engine and in the gearbox
l
that there is fuel in the tank (see engine booklet)
l
that the engine air filter is clean
l
tyre pressure
l
tightening of the fixture and regulation screws of the plough handles
and the cutting bar
11 STARTING UP
Before starting up ensure that the clutch has been released, that the cutting
bar is perfectly inserted and that the operating control has been
disengaged.
Position the accelerator lever to start position.
Position yourself at the side of the machine being sure to keep out of the
danger zone (fig. 11).
Grip the engine starter cord. Pull firmly and then release as soon as the
engine begins to run. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes
before beginning work.
12 ADVANCE
The machine advances by pulling the clutch lever and stops when it is
released. By operating the wheel translation disconnection lever the
machine goes into idle.
13 BAR OPERATION
The bar is operated by positioning lever A in fig. 6 to engaged position
while pulling the clutch lever.
14 CUTTING HEIGHT REGULATION
In order to alter the cutting height it is necessary to operate the lateral
slides of the cutting bar (ref. A in fig. 13).
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes
Never smoke while filling the gasoline tank
Keep persons, who do not know the safety rules away from
the mower.
