7) The device will automatically reboot and begin to install the UPG file contents. The
screen will contain a basic boot loader screen and the LED’s will flash.
Warning! Do
not remove AC power, remove the battery, or attempt to manually reboot the system
at this point, or the system may become unbootable

8) Once the above process is completed the unit will then boot to the today screen.

Establish an ActiveSync connection to delete the UPG file and install the IPSM
image

Delete the UPG file from the IPSM directory of the 9500 and then copy the
IPSM image to the IPSM directory.

Cold boot the terminal:
Press and hold the CTRL and ESC keys for 5 seconds.
Storage Card Upgrade:
For terminals with a storage card, the UPG file can be copied to a storage card, which is
then inserted in the device. Navigate to "\Storage Card" using File Explorer on the
terminal and tap the UPG file.
Command-line options for programmatic upgrade:
The HHPUpgrade can be invoked programmatically. The command-line syntax is as
follows:
HhpUpgrade.exe [/q] [/U=
upgrade_file
]
/q or /quiet
This switch will disable the message dialog box that asks the user to
confirm flashing the new system files. If an error occurs, an error-
message box will still be displayed detailing the error.
/U
=upgrade_file
Full path and filename of the upgrade image file. The default is “\My
Documents\firmware.upg”.
