ASSEMBLY
FITTING THE HANDLE WITH TELESCOPIC ROD (L)
The telescopic rod (L) is only designed for use with the Hammersmith Bionic Trimmer in close
proximity to the ground. Do not use the device for trimming hedges.
FIT/ADJUST THE TELESCOPIC ROD (L) (#2):
A. Loosen the twist lock (M) on the rod and pull out the telescopic rod until the desired length is reached. To
fix/lock the rod, hold it steady and tighten the twist lock.
B. You can only adjust the length of the telescopic rod (L) before attaching it to the device.
C. Insert the end of the telescopic rod into the safety lock (pay attention to the grooves on the telescopic
rod). Turn the safety lock clockwise until the bar is tight and secure.
Make sure that the telescopic rod
is FIXED in the safety lock - otherwise the device will not start as a safety precaution! (#3
)
D. To remove the telescopic rod (L), loosen the safety lock (D) and pull out the rod.
FITTING THE PROTECTIVE COVER (G) #4
1. Align the tabs on the shield with the notches on the main body. Click into place to secure. The protective
cover (G) can only be fitted in one direction.
2. Use the supplied screw (K) to secure the protective cover.
Tighten the screw (K) on the left side of
the device.
ATTACHING & REPLACING THE CABLE TIES (C) #5
Make sure that the device is switched off before installing or replacing the cable ties (C).
1. Insert the cable ties (C) through the cable tie holders (H) as shown. The lock of the cable ties should point
down and the locking teeth should point up (5a).
2. Thread the end of the cable ties (C) into the cable tie closures. Insert the pointed end through the hole of
the cable tie holder. Then thread into the clasp, tighten and lock securely (5b).
3. When replacing cable ties (C), cut off worn or damaged cable ties and replace them with new ones (5c).
TIP FOR EASIER THREADING OF THE CABLE TIES: To make threading the cable ties easier, bend the
cable ties by gently moving them back and forth with your fingertips. This makes it easier for them
to slide into the cable tie holder (5d).
Follow steps 1-3 to attach new cable ties.
Important information about using other cable ties:
You can use any commercially available cable ties up to a thickness of 4 mm and a length of 98 mm.
If you only have longer cable ties to hand, it is best to shorten them to the appropriate length of 98
mm after fitting.
Caution: If the cable ties are not shortened accordingly, they will come into contact with the
protective cover of the Hammersmith Bionic Trimmer when in use. This affects the functionality and
performance of the device.
CHARGING (#6)
IMPORTANT: Before charging, ensure that the device is turned off.
FOR FIRST USE: YOU MUST CHARGE THE DEVICE UNTIL THE CHARGE INDICATOR
LIGHTS UP GREEN. ALL SUBSEQUENT CHARGES REQUIRE A FULL 4 HOURS.
Charge the device using the adapter provided. The LED indicator light (F) changes from red to green as soon as
the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 4 hours to fully charge the battery.
Charge level indicator: The LED indicator flashes RED when the battery is low. The device‘s battery may then
be empty in 3-8 minutes. Please fully charge the battery for optimal performance. The body of the device may
warm up during the charging process. This is normal.
