the MSN program/protocol is blocked for all connected computers.
Click ->
SAVE
at the bottom of the window to save your settings.
8.2.2 URL fi lters
You use this fi lter to block specifi c Web addresses.
First, turn the fi lter on by activating the
Active
option in the
URL Filter Editing
menu (see screenshot above).
Example:
You want to block the Website www.playboy.com for all
computers that are connected to this router.
Proceed as follows:
Select the number in the URL Index: pull-down menu.
(You can block a maximum of 16 Websites). Now enter the
exact Website address in the fi eld labelled URL:, which in
our case is www.playboy.com. Click on SAVE at the bottom
of the window to save your settings. The entry www.play-
boy.com now appears in the table under Index 1. You have
now made your fi rst setting and can continue to add more
Websites, if necessary.
8.3 SNMP
From the Main Menu, select the Access Management
menu item, and then the SNMP sub-item.
Simple Network Management Protocol
is a network protocol that was designed to monitor and
control network elements (e.g. routers, servers, switches,
printers, computers, etc.) from a central station.
Get Community:
Enter the name of your network.
Set Community:
Enter the name of your network.
Click ->
SAVE
at the bottom of the window to save your settings.
8.4 UPnP (Universal Plug and Play setting)
From the
Main Menu
, select the
Access Management
menu item, and then the
UPnP
sub-item.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)
allows you to control
devices made by any manufacturer (media centres,
routers, printers), using an IP-based network, with or
without central
control. It is based on a series of standardised network
protocols and data formats.
UPnP:
Activated
means that UPnP is switched on.
Deactivated
means that the UPnP is switched off.
Auto-confi gured:
Activated
means that automatic UPnP is switched on.
Deactivated
means that automatic UPnP is switched off.
Click ->
SAVE
at the bottom of the window to save your settings.
