Appendix A Installation
NOTICE When mounting the tonometer onto the equipment of
other manufacturers, ensure that the inter-related fitting dimen
-
sions of the various tonometer models are properly observed!
A. Tonometer AT 900 C/M
A mounting base with insertion peg is required when using
the Applanation Tonometer AT 900 C/M. It is to be attached
as follows:
1. Remove the retaining screw on the top of the middle
cylinder housing of the microscope.
2. Leave the spring in the aperture.
3. Mount the base for the tonometer and secure firmly with
the screw.
4. Mount the tonometer bearer arm onto the peg of the
base and swing the tonometer to the right until it engages.
The tonometer also stays in this position when not in use.

A. Tonometer AT 900 M/Q
The Applanation Tonometer is mounted by inserting the peg of
the tonometer base into one of the apertures on the horizontal
guide plate over the slit lamp axis.
A.3 Tonometer AT 900 BQ
For installation, a small screwdriver and a 5 mm Allen key is
required.
1. Move the slit lamp towards the examiner up to the stop
piece and block the instrument base and the microscope arm
in the middle position.
2. Swing the illumination unit right round to the left.
3. Remove the breath shield from the microscope arm.
4. Remove the covering screw on the milled surface on
the right of the microscope arm.
CAUTION The screw on the left side of the
arm can be slackened with the screwdriver by
unscrewing clockwise (valid only for a subse-
quent supply of a tonometer)!
5. Move the arm of the tonometer and the radial movement
bearing together in a stretched position.
6. Support the tonometer on the guide plate and tighten the
fixing screw in the boring on the microscope arm. If no guide
plate is mounted, keep tonometer in a horizontal position.
7. Release the blockage on the microscope arm and the
instrument base. Then install the breath shield.
