Installation of a lightning arrester for network interface
Precautions
To ensure performance of the lightning arrester for network interface during installation, observe the
following rules:
•
Properly connect the lightning arrester for network interface, with IN connecting to the lightning
arrester while OUT connecting to the network interface of the switch.
•
Correctly ground the lightning arrester. When connecting the ground cable, make sure that the
ground cable is of a proper length and has a good touch with the grounding screw of the switch.
Check the ground cable with a multimeter after connection.
•
Install adequate lightning arresters for network interfaces. When there are more than one network
interface connecting to outdoor cables, install a lightning arrester for each of the network interfaces
to guard the interfaces against possible damages.
