To validate gateway mode, you must restart the router after you execute the

 command does not show information about gate mode configuration. 

To view the current and the next-startup operating modes, execute the

The gateway mode is designed for gateway applications and it does not support all the functions of the 

normal mode. 
To get best performance, upgrade the router memory to 2 GB before enabling the gateway mode.
