is generated by using the backup function (manually or automatically). Configuration rollback is applied
in the following situations:
z
The current configurations are wrong; and there are too many wrong configurations to locate or to
correct one by one. Rolling back the current configuration to a correct one is needed.
z
The application environment has changed and the device has to run in a configuration state based
on a previous configuration file without being rebooted.
Set configuration rollback following these steps:
1) Specify the filename prefix and path for saving the current configuration.
2) Save the current running configuration with the specified filename (filename serial number)
to the specified path. The current running configuration can be saved in two ways: the system
saves the current running configuration at a specified interval; or you can save the current running
configuration as needed.
3) Roll back the current running configuration to the configuration state based on a saved
configuration file. When the related command is entered, the system first compares and then
processes the differences between the current running configuration and the specified
replacement configuration file:
z
The rollback operation does not execute the commands that are the same in the replacement
configuration file and in the current configuration file.
z
The rollback operation removes the commands only present in the current configuration file but not
in the replacement configuration file; namely, the corresponding undo form commands are
executed.
z
The rollback operation executes the commands only present in the replacement configuration file
but not in the current configuration file.
z
The rollback operation removes the commands that are different in the replacement configuration
file and in the current configuration file, and then executes them according to the replacement
configuration file.
The current running configuration is only saved to the master, and only the configuration on the master
can be rolled back. However, the related configuration will be synchronized to the slaves to ensure the
rollback of the configuration after the master is changed.
