If the switch and the server are on the same network segment, specify any unused IP address of the
network for the switch without specifying the gateway’s IP address; if they are not on the same segment,
specify the gateway’s IP address so that the switch can communicate with the server.

Upgrade the Boot ROM file on the switch
Enter the corresponding parameters based on the actual condition. The system displays the following

The system asks you whether you want to upgrade the basic Boot ROM section. Click

. Then the system

The system asks you whether you want to upgrade the extended Boot ROM section. Click

Restart the switch to make the upgraded Boot ROM file effective
Press any key to return to the Boot ROM upgrade menu.

Loading a boot file
To load a boot file of the switch, enter

in the Boot ROM menu. The system displays the following
information:
1. Set TFTP protocol parameter
2. Set FTP protocol parameter
3. Set XMODEM protocol parameter

You can enter

to load the boot file.
The procedure of loading a boot file is similar to that of loading a Boot ROM file except that the system
displays the prompt of loading the boot file rather than the Boot ROM file.
After loading the boot file, the switch displays that you should configure the application attribute, that is,
main

backup
, or
none
. Type a specific attribute to complete loading the boot file.
