7 LED indication
(does not apply to SYNCHRO variant)
The LED indicates the drive’s different modes of operation.
It is located on the opposite side of the connecting cable outlet.
Status of LED
Meaning
Constantly lit
Drive in operation.
Off and flashing
Drive has reached the limit stop in open position.
Regular blinking
Drive is stopped by the electronic load
interruption.
On and flashing
Drive is in abnormal position; programming lost.
8 Settings
8.1 Switch-off in closed position
Thanks to the integral load interruption, the drive switches off in closed position.
Setting the limit switch is therefore not required. When the end position is reached,
the drive carries out a reverse stroke of approx. 1 mm. thus relieving both gaskets and
holding brackets.
8.2 Setting the stroke
The factory setting of the stroke is 400 mm; it can be changed via DIP switches at any
time. The DIP switches 1 and 2, positioned on the opposite side of the cable outlet,
have to be set according to the following table.
After changing the stroke, a test run should be carried out.

8.3 Programming the synchronised mode (applies to SYNCHRO variant only)
In order to synchronise two ELTRAL KS 30/40 SYNCHRO drives, one has to be defined
as MASTER, the other one as SLAVE.
This is done via the DIP switches 3 and 4 according to the table below which also
shows the switch position for the single operation of a SYNCHRO drive (no synchroni-
sation with another drive).
After programming, a test run should be carried out.

Example of how to set the DIP switches for two synchronised drives :
• Drive 1:
DIP switch 3 to ON
DIP switch 4 to OFF
• Drive 2:
DIP switch 3 to OFF
DIP switch 4 to OFF
Repeated programming:
If synchronisation fails between the two drives, the programming has to be repeated.
• Reset both drives to “SINGLE“ operating mode.
• Disconnect the white and the red wire.
• Extend the chains to at least 100 mm.
• Retract the chains completely.
• Reconnect the white and the red wire and reprogramme to MASTER/SLAVE operation.

Problem
Drive not functioning.
LED lit but the drive not working
Limit stop not functioning.
Possible cause
• Mains adapter without current
supply.
• Connecting cable unplugged or
wire(s) loose.
• Mains adapter not providing the
designated tension (24 V).
• Switching mains adapter in the
drive damaged, not providing
low voltage.
• Drive damaged as a result of
overvoltage or other destruc-
tion.
• Programming not carried out
correctly.
• Failure of the electrical DIP
switch contact.
Solution
• Check state of fault current
protection switch or safety
switch.
• Check all electrical connections
of drive.
• Exchange mains adapter.
• Exchange drive.
• Exchange drive.
• Repeat programming of DIP
switch.
• Exchange drive.
