5.0 - DESCRIPTION OF THE ALARM SYSTEM ARMING/DISARMING
COMMAND WIRES
6.0 - DOORS LOCK/UNLOCK SIGNALS SELF-CODING
A - Using the RED/BROWN and RED/GREY wires you can arm and disarm the alarm
using the original vehicle remote, or door key lock.
- RED/BROWN WIRE:
Connect to the vehicle wire that changes state when locking the doors.
- RED/GREY WIRE:
Connect to the vehicle wire that changes state when unlocking the
doors.
Note:
with this connection the YELLOW/BROWN and YELLOW/GREY wires have to be
connected to O/E vehicle earth.
B - Using the RED/BROWN, RED/GREY, YELLOW/BROWN and YELLOW/GREY wires,
the alarm will only arm and disarm using the original vehicle remote. YELLOW/BROWN
and YELLOW/GREY wire connections can be found in the vehicle technical guides
supplied by GT.
- YELLOW/BROWN WIRE:
This wire has to be connected to the vehicle’s locking wire which
is only present when the door lock is being operated by the original vehicle remote.
- YELLOW/GREY WIRE:
This wire has to be connected to the vehicle’s unlocking wire which
is only present when the door lock is being operated by the original vehicle remote.
WARNING:
- Ensure that the RED/BROWN, the YELLOW/BROWN, the RED/GREY and the YELLOW/
GREY wires are correctly connected (as indicated in the GT vehicle installation guides
or following the DESCRIPTION OF THE ALARM SYSTEM ARMING/DISARMING
COMMAND WIRES section), the ignition key must be in off and the alarm disarmed.
1- Earth the GREEN/YELLOW wire until the alarm system will emit a long acoustic signal and
the LED BUTTON starts to flash.
2 - During the next 10 seconds disconnect and then reconnect the earth to the GREEN/
YELLOW wire.
Note:
after 10 seconds the alarm system will emit 3 visual (indicators)/acoustic signals and
automatically start the RAPID TEST procedure.
3 - At this point the system will emit 6 visual (indicators) /acoustic signals to indicate that it is
in condition to SELF-CODE THE DOORS LOCK (arming) AND UNLOCK (disarming)
SIGNALS; when the LED BUTTON starts flashing you have 2 minutes to carry out the points
4, 5 and 6.
4 - Make sure that all the doors and the boot and bonnet closed.
5 - Lock the vehicle using the original remote control, after a couple of seconds the alarm will
emit 1 visual (indicators)/acoustic signal and the doors will lock.
