3. Safety instructions
This state-of-the-art appliance has been designed
and manufactured to high standards. It conforms
to all appropriate European safety standards
and is TÜV certified. However, appliances of this
kind can be hazardous. For your own safety,
please read these instructions!
It will only take 5 minutes of your time to read
through them. Even if you are already aware of
most of the safety advice, please read through
these instructions anyway as there may be some
points which are new to you and which will
prevent you from harm.
3.1 Definitions of terminology
The follow terminology is used in this user
manual:
Warning!
High risk: Disregarding this warning
may cause serious bodily damage and
in extreme cases could even result in
death.
Caution!
Medium risk: Disregarding this warning may lead
to the appliance being damaged.
Please note:
Low risk: Points to bear in mind when using the
appliance.
3.2 General advice
• Please read this user manual through
carefully before using the appliance. It
constitutes part of the appliance and must be
available for reference at all times.
• This appliance must only be used for its
intended purpose (see "2.1 Intended use" on
page 18).
• This appliance is not designed for use by
persons (including children) who have
limited physical or sensory abilities, or who
have mental disabilities, or for persons who
have little or no experience in using such an
appliance, unless they are supervised by a
responsible person or receive clear
instructions as to how the appliance
functions. This appliance should be kept out
of reach of children.
• Please note that the use of any additional
parts which are not recommended in this user
manual or are not original spare parts will
lead to the invalidation of the guarantee and
liability expiring. This also applies to all
repairs which are carried out by non-
qualified persons. The service address can
be found in "11. Guarantee" on page 29.
• If the appliance is found to be faulty within
the guarantee period, then it should be
returned to our service centre. Otherwise any
claim under guarantee is void.
• Never heat the pressure cooker with the lid
on without first putting water in it. Using the
appliance without water may damage it.
• Please ensure that not all of the water turns to
steam.
• Only use the pan if all the parts are clean
and manoeuvrable. Food particles and
grease may obstruct the safety devices.
3.3 Preventing burns and scalds
Warning!
This pressure cooker works
by using high pressure and high
temperatures. It is therefore important
that you observe the following safety
instructions to avoid the danger of
seriously burning or scalding yourself.
• Be sure to check before every use that the
pressure regulator

and the safety valve

are manoeuvrable and not blocked up (see
"6.1 Preparing the pressure cooker" on
page 21).
